Project 365 (refocus)

Consecrate

Having Just begun my 365 photography project only 19 days ago I am being led to take a week long break from this blog and anything photography related to focus my relationship with Jesus. I will resume next Tuesday Lord willing and I will be sharing for all of those that are interested what I have learned during this time about God and about myself.

Project 365 Day 19 Going Minimalist

Project 365 Day 19 Going Minimalist

Cherrios
I was recently listening to Twit Photo with Leo Laport and Catherine Hall and they featured a designer by the name of Khoi Vinh and he made a statement that goes something like this. Design is not what you can add to an image but rather what can be removed. That stuck with me so I thought I would continue with the macro theme and do something simple.

Project 365 Day 17 (Time) How to

Project 365 Day 17 (Time) How to

Time

I just purchased a new lens (Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 Macro) a few weeks ago and now have the ability to shoot macro images, so I thought I would begin a series of macro shots in my project 365. The first thing that I needed to do was build a quick and dirty Macro studio and I found a great tutorial on the strobist site (I'll leave it up to them to explain that). You will see in my picture below of how I did the setup. Now the challenge is too find interesting enough subjects.

Craft and Vision free eBook (review)

Craft and Vision free eBook (review)

Craft & Vision Free eBook

Over the past week I traveled with my wife and kids to Disneyland and I needed some good reading material for the flight there and back. I would say that I am generally a very slow reader, in fact I do most of my learning by listening or watching. That being said I powered through this book in one sitting and I have to Say that Craft and Vision creates an incredible product and the fact that they gave this product away shows their commitment to photographic education. I highly recommend this book and if you want any more of the titles offered by Craft and Vision they will only cost you five bucks. Now thats a steal! I have purchased two others all ready and I will most definitely fill my iPad with the rest of them. Great work David Duchemin

Happy reading

It was our first day in Disneyland and this was the first ride that presented itself to us so my wife and daughter seized the opportunity and climbed aboard. I have been excited for weeks to shoot images on our family vacation and this was one of the first pictures. It turned out to be one of my favorites as well. I used My Sony SLT-A65 and my new Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 macro lens (Stay tuned for a future video review of this lens)

Blue Marble: A Stunning 64-Megapixel Photograph of Earth

Blue Marble: A Stunning 64-Megapixel Photograph of Earth

Blue Marbel

Just finished reading this story from Petapixel and knew that I needed to repost this on my blog. I am going to go on the record saying that this may be the most spectacular image that I have ever seen. What Petapixel did not do is give Glory to the one who made this image possible and that is the almighty God.

Romans 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Follow the link below and you will find the 8000x8000 original image posted by NASA on Flickr and take a few moments to imagine the earth being created by the awesome power of God. Blue Marbel
